Description

The housing component of the Veteran Housing & Empowerment Program (VHEP) follows a Housing First approach, connecting veterans to safe and stable housing as a first step toward recovery.

Support is structured across three phases, meeting veterans where they are:

• Immediate Shelter: Emergency housing that provides safety, stability, and a place to begin healing.
• ‍Transitional Housing: Short- to mid-term support with case management as veterans prepare for independent living.‍
• Permanent Housing Assistance: Help identifying, securing, and sustaining long-term housing through community partnerships, rental support, and housing readiness tools.

Eligibility

Our housing support is intended for veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability. To qualify, individuals must:

• Have served in the United States Armed Forces (active duty, National Guard, or Reserves)
• Be currently unhoused, at risk of losing housing, or living in unsafe or unstable conditions
• Be willing to engage in case management and support planning
